“I loved having the interactive CD. I am always looking for new ways to bring in technology into my classroom. This book had it all for me. It had the reading, the paper activities and the computer activities I needed to help me be a more successful teacher. It was very easy to use. My students kept asking if we could look at the whale CD again and again, even after we had looked at it for 3 days. I was very happy with their motivation to learn.”
Teachers’ Choice Award reviewer
“I would recommend this product to teachers in grades K to 4th. There are skills for all ages in the interactive CD. Students will enjoy this book no matter what age they are. The activities are so fun and entertaining for them that they don’t even realize they are learning.”

What are the positive characteristics of this product?
The positive characteristics of this product are that it provides an opportunity for the
child to have the visual stimuli with the auditory capabilities to enhance the learning
experience. The story is also good in that it teaches a moral value to children about
listening. Having all this combined increases the child’s ability to learn. Also, the extras
included on the CD-rom are an asset.

As a teacher I really appreciated the well thought out objectives to the book and CD
program. These objectives are defi nitely met within the program. The CD really adds
to the book, bringing in so much more information through text, pictures, sound, video
and games.

“An educational and fun introduction to the topic.”
School Library Journal, September 2006
“This set would make a good, very basic introduction to a study on marine science. The story and software in this set seemed geared toward children ages 6-9… As a starting point, this set is a fun way to arouse curiosity and the PDF activities would be good supplements to your study.”
Dena Wood, The Old Schoolhouse Magazine, September 2006
